Roast Cauliflower

The cauliflower is a versatile vegetable & tastes quite different according to how you cook it. Roasting is quick for a simple side dish. Add herbs & spices or just season with salt & pepper, it will be caramelised & delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole or half SLF cauliflower, depending on how many you are feeding & the size of the cauliflower.
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Za’atar seasoning (optional)

Method

  1. Pre heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.
  2. Cut or pick off the cauliflower florets & cut into similar sized pieces for even cooking. 
  3. Wash the florets & shake off any excess water.
  4. Drizzle some olive oil onto a large baking tray & put into the oven.
  5. Put the cauliflower pieces in a large bowl and drizzle over some olive oil so that everything is thinly coated.
  6. Sprinkle of some Za’atar seasoning mix if you have it &/or season with salt & pepper. Stir to make sure the cauliflower pieces are evenly coated.
  7. Take out the baking tray and spread out the cauliflower pieces evenly.
  8. Roast for about 10-12 mins, turning halfway, until you can insert a knife easily. The edges of the cauliflower should be golden & caramelised.
